Promise Fulfilled!

December 9, 2018 Series: Maranatha! (Advent & Christmas sermon series)

Topic: Promise Scripture: Isaiah 9:6–7, Luke 2:25–38

We are all familar with waiting for good things to happen--a special celebration, a birth of a baby, a vacation.  Sometimes, we have to wait a long time.

The prophet Isaiah declared God's promise to the people of Israel, that he would send the Saviour to them.  The people had to wait a very long time--more than 700 years--for this good thing to happen, but God fufilled his promise, and Jesus the Messiah was born.  Simeon and Anna both waited all their lives to see the promise fufilled, and they praised God for his goodness to his people.

Jesus made another promise to us, that he would come again to make all things new.
