This passage is a prayer about God's faithfulness. This brief passage--all of three verses--is a summary of the entire history of God's plan of redemption for his people. What's all the more stiking about this passage is that Isaiah wrote it even as the Israelites languished in exile.
As time seems to fly by, as one year ends and another begins, it is important for us to stop and remember God's faithfulness to us, even in the midst of whatever adversity we may be dealing with. Let us give thanks to God for his grace to us, repent of our shortcomings, and re-dedicate ourselves to serving him.
