Righteousness and the Face of God

March 17, 2019 Series: Journey with Jesus (Lent 2019)

Scripture: Psalm 11:1–7

"When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?" The exact situation David faced when he wrote this psalm isn't clear, but he was obviously in danger.  David's advisors told him to flee to one of his mountain strongholds; David himself, however, proclaimed his trust in the Lord, and he rebuked his advisors for their lack of faith.

Fleeing from danger is often wise.  However, when we do run, we should run to the Lord.  He promises us that he will bring his justice upon the wicked.  He also promises us that if we trust in him, we will see his face.
