The season after Easter, called Eastertide, is a season of joyful celebration and abundant praise. It lasts 50 days, from Easter Sunday to Pentecost, seven weeks later. As is our tradition over the eastertide season, we will celebrate our GEMS (April 28) and Friendship (May 5) ministries. May 12 will be a teaching service on children at the Lord’s Table, with a special focus on the faith nurture of children as we equip parents to bring their children to the table. May 19 and 26 are left open for the pastors to do whatever is on their hearts. May 26 will also be Sunday School graduation. We will also celebrate the Ascension of our Lord on the Sunday following Ascension Day (June 2), the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (June 9), and to begin the season of Ordinary Time after Pentecost, we will be observing Trinity Sunday (June 16) as well as ordaining our officebearers. We are not doing a series this year, but the season will generally have a joyous, resurrection theme.
