Bright orange fishes are in houses all over North America right now- sitting on desks, coffee tables or book shelves- collecting coins. For those of you who are new to the CRC denomination, the World Hunger Campaign is in it's 36th year and that orange, plastic fish bank has been collecting spare change since 1995.

This campaign is all about feeding those who go hungry and giving resources to grow and maintain food sources. And those bright orange fish get filled up with dimes, nickels, quarters, loonies, and toonies (and I'm sure some pennies too) and all of it goes towards feeding the hungry.

It's hard to imagine what just one Peter Fish can actually do, but last year, all those single fishes came together and raised over $1 million!! Sure a single fish, completely separated from it's fellow believers, might not be able to overcome hunger (though, let's not limit our great God), but when just ONE fish stands up (or swims??) just watch, just watch...cuz we will all stand up together.

"..I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened..." Philippians 1:27,28

So we stand as one, many parts making one whole body of Christ, filling plastic fish to teach our children how to give, how to show mercy, how to live with less so others may have plenty.

"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;" Psalm 24:1
